Driver Licences

The Australian Consulate-General, Geneva does not renew driver licences. Contact the relevant State Government Licence Authority in Australia to find out if you are eligible and to obtain the necessary forms and instructions to renew your licence while residing overseas.

Visit Austroads - Australian Driver Licensing for further information and contact details of all State Government driver licence issuing authorities in Australia.

In some cases, we can be requested to witness signatures and photographs on a driver licence renewal application.

Is an Appointment required?

If you need a licence renewal document witnessed, this must be completed in-person at an appointment.  You must check with the requesting authority that consular staff can witness the document and/or photographs for you. If you need a photograph certified as part of this process, visit our notarial section on Certifying photographs and true copies of documents.
