Universal Periodic Review Working Group – 17th Session
Universal Periodic Review of Monaco
28 October 2013
The Government of Australia welcomes the priority given by the Government of Monaco to human rights issues since Monaco’s first UPR in 2009, and commends Monaco for progress made in responding to recommendations arising from that review, including the signature of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. Australia encourages Monaco to continue to actively consider ways to align Monegasque law with the obligations of signatories, with a view to ratification.
Australia notes Monaco’s explanation regarding its non-ratification of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court. We never the less recommend Monaco ratify the Rome Statue of the ICC.
